So, you have made it here to our Talent Academy website. You have read about who we are and what we do. Now what?

If you are interested in how we operate and can see yourself in a role with us, regardless of background or prior experience, apply to join. As we set out on our Application Process page, when you apply, we want to know more about you, your motivations and what you can bring not only to the role but also to the company. Here are some tips about the best way to approach our first application stages:

Questionnaire Stage

1. Be honest

This sounds simple but it is very important. We want to find out more about your motivations for applying and your interest in the company. The common factor in this is you! Don’t choose the generic answer or cram your sentences full of key words because you think we will like it. We want to know what you are like, so tell us.

3. Take initiative

What do you want to know about us and how we operate? Read the information we have– what stands out for you? If there is something specific about what we do that interests you, find out more about it and let us know.

2. Research values and culture

We are looking for people who have a mindset that fits our culture and hold the same values we do. Look at the information on our website and think about the approach we are looking for. What resonates with you and how can you reflect this?

4. Be direct

We ask a few key questions on our questionnaire, so it is important that you get your message across concisely and accurately. Do not write for the sake of writing – make a point, give an example and relate back to the question.

Telephone Interview

1. Think of what you can bring to this role

In the first stage, we get an idea of your motivations and who we are. This stage is an extension of that but also a way to see what you can bring to the team and the role. Through research and understanding of the company, think about the value you can bring to your specific role but also to the wider business. The Talent Academy is an integral part of CloudStratex so it is important that you can see the bigger picture.

2) Demonstrate how you think, approach and solve problems.

As an IT consultancy, a lot of our work involves being presented with a problem and coming up with ideas about how to solve it and move forward, so we are interested to know how you approach these situations. Think about previous examples of where you have encountered this situation- what did you do and why? Has your approach developed over time? Often, interview techniques such as STAR (situation, task, action, result) are effective ways to demonstrate this thinking.

3) Always ask questions

Be curious! Don’t be nervous about asking questions – it demonstrates your interest in the company. Think about some things you may want to ask before the conversation and have those in the back of your mind during your interview.

4) Be yourself!

It sounds obvious but it is easy to overthink and worry about how you are going to come across. Try to relax and remember an interview is simply a conversation where we want to learn more about you. This will come across best if you act naturally.

There you go – eight top tips to help guide through the first stages of our application process. Remember we want to get to know you – don’t hold back. We are looking forward to seeing your applications. If you do have any questions about the process or about working in CloudStratex in general, get in touch with us via our social channels.
